| PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Helicopter Assembly Building
Agusta Aerospace is a Three Phased Project
which is over 8 acres in building square footage & acres
of land. The First Phase consisted of an Assembly Area, which
includes a Five Ton Overhead Crane, Foam Sprinkler System,
44’ wide x 25’ high Aviation Door, Workstations,
etc. The Second Phase is the Flight Area, which includes two
70’ wide x 25’ Aviation Doors, Battery Storage
Room, and Foam Storage Room. The Third Phase includes Offices,
a Kitchen, Locker Rooms, Electrical Room, Lobby, Vestibule,
etc. The roofing system is metal panel and single ply TPO.
The walls are insulated panels, masonry and EIFS. The structural
steel was all sand blasted and painted with epoxy paint.
The concrete floors are also
coated with epoxy paint. Phase consisted of an additional
Helicopter Paint Booth and Water Crib area. This facility
is utilized to make Agusta’s A119 Koala Helicopters,
which the New York City Police Department Aviation Unit is
currently utilizing. The A119 Koala is the most capable, versatile,
highest performance single engine helicopter in the World!
